Tertre Roteboeuf is today definitely one of the cult wineries of Saint-Emilion. Owned by Francois Mitjavile, Tertre Roteboeuf has been producing outstanding wines since 1978 on a 6-hectare vineyard planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
Francois Mitjavile alongside his daughter Nina and son Louis, also makes two other outstanding wines at their properties Roc de Cambes and Domaine de l’Aurage.
Roc de Cambes in Cote de Bourg was purchased in 1988, and has since been dubbed the junior Tertre Roteboeuf., with plantings of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Domaine de l’Aurage is owned by Francois’ extremely talented son Louis “Lou Lou”, and his wife Caroline, with 2007 as the first vintage. The picturesque vineyards of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux lie on an outcrop of the Saint-Emilion limestone ridge and represent some of the best value in Bordeaux. Merlot accounts almost the entirely of the 15 hectare plantings.
3 wines, each with their own unique personalities from their varied terroirs, but brought together by the hands of an established wine family.
