Description
VS Bas-Armagnac
It is in Vic-Fezensac, in the heart of the Gers and the Bas Armagnac region, that the House Gelas was established. Its domain is made up of soil enriched by Pyrenean debris stirred by the sea, and is protected from the Atlantic winds by the forest of the Landes. Ideal conditions for the production of premium brandies.
This Bas-Armagnac VS Decanter is a blend of brandies produced from the white grape varieties Baco and Ugni Blanc, perfectly adapted to the terroir.
Preserved on fine lees after racking, the wine is distilled using a simple heating still. This method, rather gentle, allows to preserve more components of the grape. The brandy obtained is then aged for 3 to 5 years in new oak barrels, allowing it to refine thanks to the transfer of tannin and wood aromas.
Of a beautiful light amber, this armagnac has a fine nose with notes of oranges and liquorice. On the palate, it has a frank and mellow attack, for a very balanced finish on notes of juniper berries and vanilla.
